Help the JC Leon family

Juan Carlos likes to go by JC rather than his formal name and he just turned 60 years old this past April. He was born in Havana Cuba on the infamous Bay of Pigs day. He came from Cuba when he was 13 years old, not knowing a word of English. Here he met a great group of guys that would become not only his friends, but his brothers.  He is a proud father of 4 and has 1 grandson.

 

He opened his own business over 30 years ago. He married his wife, Judy and quickly became a "friend" to her 2 young boys Robert & Eric when they were just 7 and 5 years old. But time would change that from not only a friend, but a dad as well. They had 2 daughters, Brielle & Kaylee which have been the apple of his eyes. When asked how many children he has, he proudly says He also has an 11 year old grandson Rodrigo that he has helped raise and shape into the wonderful young boy he is. Through the years he has given his family all the attention great dads do. He has spent countless hours building projects, teaching them how to ride bikes, swim, enjoy life, and given them all the love a great dad does.

 

For many years, JC would volunteer at the Shore Dreams events in Toms River, raising money for disabled children. Under a scorching sun in July, you could find him flipping burgers for the cause. Ask any friend, and they can attest that if you ever need something, JC would be there to help out.

 

In 2017, he ran the NYC Marathon. Quite an accomplishment for someone that was never a runner. Like everything in his life, he puts his mind to it, and after setting his goal he accomplishes it. He is not a quitter.

 

He is the patriarch, the rock and foundation of this loving family. Anyone that meets him quickly falls into his charisma and remembers him.

 

Unfortunately, JC was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer in September. The Leon Family would never be the same. A diagnosis like this is terminal and causes quite an emotional and financial strain on a family. He has had numerous procedures, many hospitalizations, and chemotherapy treatments. Due to this, the family has incurred a lot of medical bills, adding more stress to their already difficult situation.
