Help Jean, Kamyla, and Eduarda’s Family in This Tragic Time

It is with deep sorrow that we share the devastating loss of Jean Carlos Porfino de Aquino, husband of Kamyla Lucas de Araujo, and her daughter Eduarda Lucas de Souza, who tragically lost their lives in a car crash caused by an alledged drunk driver.

Jean, Kamyla, and Eduarda had recently moved to South Carolina, excited to start a new chapter together. Kamyla was a dedicated mother who worked hard to provide for Eduarda, and when she met Jean, they built a beautiful life together. Jean loved Eduarda as his own, and with the recent news of expecting a child with Kamyla, they were filled with hope and happiness for their growing family.

This tragedy has left their families heartbroken. We are working to bring Jean, Kamyla, and Eduarda back to Brazil, where they will be laid to rest alongside their loved ones. Kamyla’s parents (Eduarda’s grandparents) and some of Jean’s family members will be traveling to the U.S. to handle the necessary arrangements, which brings significant financial strain during this unimaginable time.

Update on Funeral and Transportation Plans

We want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has contributed and shared this fundraiser. Your kindness and support mean the world to us during this incredibly difficult time.

Our original goal was to bring Jean, Kamyla, and Eduarda to Brazil for their final resting place. However, we are facing a family matter, as Eduarda’s father who is still alive does not want to allow her to be transported to Brazil.

We are doing our best to resolve this situation, but we want to be fully transparent about how the funds will be used. If Kamyla and Eduarda remain in the U.S., we will adjust the estimated costs to cover their funeral expenses here. If we are able to bring them to Brazil, the funds will go toward transportation, funeral arrangements, and travel expenses for the family to handle everything.
