Help Jeanette King Conquer Stage 4 Cancer
Donation protected
Dear friends,
For those who don’t know, our mother, Jeanette King, has recently been diagnosed with Stage Four Metastatic Breast Cancer. This life-threatening disease has spread to her liver, lymphatic system, and hip bone, and she really needs your help.
Anyone who has crossed paths with our mom knows that she lives to help other people. As a certified nurse-midwife and registered nurse, she’s delivered thousands of babies and cared for innumerous women since she began practicing in 1989. She can often be seen staying past the end of her shift to provide additional guidance or solace to a patient or co-worker in need. Unfortunately, far too often that person in need has been Mom, as she’s received four cancer diagnoses during her lifetime: Thyroid Cancer (1993), Inflammatory Breast Cancer (2003), Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (2012), and her current cancer. This latest diagnosis, the recurrence of her previously beaten breast cancer, is the scariest one yet.
Instead of succumbing to grief and the worst possible outcome, Mom has fought the cancer into remission each time with a combination of conventional medicine, alternative therapies, excellent nutrition, deep faith, hard work, and -- most of all -- sheer determination. When she was originally diagnosed with stage three breast cancer almost twenty years ago, the doctors estimated she had eighteen months to live. Instead of accepting that prognosis, Mom decided to take the most aggressive chemotherapy available and do everything she could outside of conventional methods to beat it into remission.
After being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2012, Mom was unable to withstand the only two conventional treatment options available to her due to potentially deadly toxic reactions. Having already exhausted the viable paths to recovery using conventional regimens, she found herself at a critical juncture. With the help of a naturopathic physician and botanist, Mom developed an alternative treatment plan that was uniquely designed for her cancer. This holistic approach proved extremely successful and sent the lymphoma into remission. She built upon this newfound knowledge by attending integrative medical conferences and conducting her own research that she feels compelled to share with others. To this day, she reaches out to people dealing with similarly grim diagnoses and helps them through peer counseling, healing work, nutritional consultations, supplement recommendations, and, most importantly, faith.

In the last few years alone, she has worked three simultaneous jobs to help aid us in college. In addition, she’s worked hard to support our father, Dave, who had a spinal cord injury this summer requiring emergency surgery, and has since found out he will require another major spinal surgery in the near future. He’s also still in recovery from a complete knee replacement. With our dad’s current condition, he is unable to work as he balances caring for our mother and healing himself. We three children, who normally reside in other cities, are currently home to support our parents during this difficult time.
Our mom’s stress continues to mount as she’s not only fighting her most severe cancer diagnosis yet but also a drastic loss of income and a growing pile of medical bills. We are seeking financial support to help recoup her lost income as well as medical expenses, living expenses, and bills during this life-threatening battle.
Please donate what you can to help our mom, Jeanette. Donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated. Having done so much for others, she deserves to finally focus entirely on healing herself. Thank you!

This fundraiser is being organized by Jeanette's three kids: Jonathan, Bella, and Nate.
