Help Jeff & Jackie with memorial expenses

My mother, Julie, passed away October 27th, 2024.

She was living in Muskogee, Oklahoma, with my brother Jeff.

She had complex health issues and was unable to get a 4-way heart bypass and complete heart valve replacement.

She had been taken by ambulance to a local hospital in stable condition, but coded in the ER.

My brother was with her at the time. I was not able to be with her because I live all the way across the country in Oregon. My mother had no other family.

Everything has been left up to us to take care of. She was the sole household income. My brother cannot pay bills until we settle the estate. My brother was her caretaker.

I can't afford travel expenses. I have very little income. We also will need to plan memorial services.

Julie Ann “Strate” Gordon went home to the Lord October 27th, 2024 in Muskogee, OK. She was 66.

Born and raised in Sacramento, CA. She was preceded in death by her mother Betty Jean “Albright” Strate, and her father Arthur Rulon Strate. Her siblings Charles A. Strate and David Paul Strate.

She is survived by her son Jeffery James Gordon, and daughter Jackie Ann Gordon. Her grandchildren Gabrielle “Gordon” Haugey, Allyson “Gordon” Macy, and James Edward Gordon II.

She moved to Oregon in 1990 with her husband and children.

She was a devoted lifetime member of The American Legion Auxiliary. “A Very Important Member”.

She served many offices with Sheridan Auxiliary Unit 75, Department of Oregon “American Legion Family”, which included Unit 75 president.

She was District 2 president alongside with her husband as District 2 Commander. A devoted Post 75 Commander for many years.

Both were founding Ad-Hoc committee members of the Grand Ronde Veterans Memorial project. They were members of the Northwest Indian Veterans Association.

Both served tirelessly in mutual partnership with Willamina VFW Post 4211 and AmVets Tri-Cities Post 2000.

After her husband's passing in 2016, she moved out of state with her son Jeffery. They landed in Muskogee, OK where she resided for the last two years before her passing.

There is no memorial service planned at this time. She will be cremated and placed to rest in a private family plot in California. Services to be announced at a later date.

It's the holiday season and this is a very hard time for us. If you could donate what you can, it would be a great help.

Funds raised will help with mounting bills, travels expenses, and memorial costs. Our goal is $6000, but we have immediate costs that need to be taken care of right now. This is just a rough estimate.
