Help Jeff and Vicki Chandler
Donation protected
Many of you know that my dad, Jeff Chandler, got sick with the Delta variant of Covid ten days before Thanksgiving. This was right before my youngest sister, Savannah Chandler, got married. Both Jeff and my mom, Vicki Chandler, got Covid and had to watch the wedding from the window outside the church. After the wedding, Jeff continued to decline and was admitted to the hospital the next day. Jeff has spent the last 9 weeks in the hospital, most of it in ICU, where the doctors said he was the sickest man in the hospital. While on the ventilator and in a medically induced coma he had several near-death experiences, including multiple blood clots, one of which ruptured and required emergency surgery on his abdomen while in a medically induced coma and on a ventilator. At one point our entire family was told to go to the hospital and say goodbye. Jeff does not remember most of the last few months and thought he was paralyzed for a while after he was taken off the ventilator since he couldn’t move. Jeff is starting to recover but has a long way to go. He will be released from the hospital in the near future but will be bedridden and unable to move on his own. He will also be on oxygen and need physical therapy and respiratory therapy while at home. He has to re-learn how to sit up, stand, walk and move as well as use his hands and fingers. Once he recovers from that he will have to go back to the hospital for another major surgery. People have asked how they could help Jeff and Vicki. It will likely be 9 months to a year before he can work again and as their sole source of income they need help with the staggering medical bills, payment for therapies and to pay their bills. They have used all of their savings and will be out of money in the next month. If you have a few dollars to help them we would all greatly appreciate it. All funds go directly to them. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me or Tawni Cavender. Thank you all for your help.
