Help Jeff battle meningitis

We are starting this GoFundMe in honor of our colleague and everyone's friend, Jeff Smith. For any of you who may not know yet, Jeff has been in the hospital with a severe case of meningitis. Meningitis is an inflammation of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord that is usually caused by an infection.

We have also learned that Jeff had a stroke from a blood clot and then small strokes from the swelling of the brain due to meningitis. While his vital signs continue to improve, his family will likely not know the extent of his illness for several days or even weeks. Jeff’s path to recovery is not yet known, but it is likely to be an uphill battle for him.

As you can imagine, this has been and will continue to be a difficult experience for Jeff and all who know and love him. Jeff is the most kindhearted, friendly, passionate, and loyal person you will ever meet, and we have faith that his strength and determination will persevere and pull him through this significant challenge in his life.

We set up this GoFundMe page as a way to communicate Jeff’s status, as well as to ask for your assistance during this difficult time. As you can imagine, Jeff is likely to incur significant medical expenses as well as lost wages during this process, so any donations towards Jeff’s recovery are greatly appreciated. Any amount at all will help. If you are unable to donate, prayers and good vibes are also just as important! :)
