Help Jeff Be Here to Walk Daughter Down Aisle

Donation protected
The Gatt Family is an extended part of the Molter Family and, as Mary Molter Cohen, I am asking for your consideration for Jeff and Monica's family. Monica Gatt was Mom's most fervent prayer warrior over the past 20 years before she passed on February 3, 2023.

Jeff and Monica are both giving people and avoid being the center of attention as much as possible. That’s why until now many of their extended family and friends may not have known the challenges they’ve been facing the last few years, namely with Jeff’s significant health complications and now his imminent need for both a liver and kidney transplant. It has escalated to the point that they have no choice but to humble themselves and let others help.

They have been married for 41 years and have four beautiful daughters, one son-in-law, one grandchild and one future son-in-law. Since 1992 they have lived in Naples, Florida, in Golden Gate Estates, where they brought up their girls, were exemplary members of their community, and have owned and operated their own business. Unfortunately, since Jeff’s health has declined, he’s been unable to do the labor himself.

Jeff’s medical journey began in 2017 at only 58 years old with an urgent triple bypass open heart surgery. Afterward, he found out he had end-stage kidney failure. In 2018 he started dialysis 3 days a week and continues to this day. In addition to these challenging diagnoses, he was then found to have prostate cancer, which has not been able to be treated due to his other health conditions. The next handful of years found Jeff in and out of the hospital for various illnesses and treatments, all the while fighting hard, praying and growing closer to God and his family.

In the summer of 2022, he fell and broke his hip, which required surgery, and this last Spring he fell again and fractured his shoulder. As he was recovering from his fractured shoulder, he was unexpectedly hit with yet another life-threatening diagnosis: Advanced Nonalcoholic Cirrhosis of the liver (NASH). This recent diagnosis has been shocking and devastating for him and his whole family. The damage to his liver is already so severe, is progressing quickly, and has brought with it a whole new level of discomfort and daily-life restrictions that make it very difficult for him to do the everyday things he loves.

But Jeff’s will and determination are abounding. Through these relentless and daily trials, he always takes it like a champ, he never complains, he refuses to let his attitude falter, and he fights hard each and every day. His hope and his goal is for a liver and kidney transplant.

Most importantly, Jeff and his family seek prayers. Prayers for Jeff’s physical strength to match his strength of mind, and that he regains the strength of body needed to successfully undergo and recover from liver and kidney transplantation. May he find relief from the daily discomforts of his illnesses, and that he finds peace through his most challenging of moments.

“I give thanks to my God through Jesus Christ for all of you” -Romans 1:8

If you can, please help with any monetary donation so Jeff can continue the expensive therapies, treatments, and medical equipment that have proven to ease some of his sufferings and that have already been shown to have helped him regain some of his strength.

This is very exciting to the family and so important to Jeff as it gets him one step closer to walking his newly engaged daughter down the aisle on her wedding day, one step closer to teaching his only grandson how to drive, and ultimately one step closer to winning this fight.

Additionally, there are medical bills, transportation costs, and many other things outside the family’s budget that could help Jeff get closer to liver and kidney transplantation, or at the very least help him to optimize the time he has left with his family and friends.

Any donations, whether financial donations or offerings of prayer, would be forever appreciated by the family. May GOD Bless you and yours.
