Help Jeff & Krista's Covid Battle

I’m writing this on the behalf of my sister Krista and husband Jeff.

Jeff recently tested positive for Covid, after receiving one shot of the vaccine. He followed all the rules of social distancing, hand hygiene and wearing his mask. Jeff is retired law enforcement of 20 years and now works for Amazon. He is currently in the ICU with pneumonia. He continues to struggle to breath resulting in the need to concentrate on just breathing. This is rather exhausting, let alone coughing excessively due to the pneumonia. His oxygenation levels continue to drop which has led his care team to try using bi-pap and Airvo (high flow nasal cannula) to help bring these levels up.

Krista, is spreading her time visiting Jeff, taking care of their three children and working as a nurse. As of today, she has also tested positive for Covid. She will no longer be able to work until she tests negative and no more visits to Jeff. To add, this extra stress is hard on her health as she has epilepsy. Their oldest son Kai tested positive but has been asymptomatic. Their other two boys will be tested ASAP to ensure their health and safety as school will start at the end of July.

Any donations will go to the help pay for Jeff’s hospitalization, daily needs, meals and the loss of wages for both Krista and Jeff.

Hard times have fallen on all of us at some point and Krista is the worst for asking for help, any donation is greatly appreciated. This life event has taken them by complete surprised and overwhelmed their family. Krista is trying her best to stay positive but it has taken a toll on her.

Neither of them are the type of people that would ask for help. I tend to believe it is middle child syndrome. I find it difficult to ask for help let alone financial assistance, as we grew up with the mentality of working for what we have. I know that Jeff would never ask for help like this so I am trying my best to support them by fundraising for their family.
