Help Jeff Recover from Heart Surgery

Our dear Jeff has just undergone quadruple bypass heart surgery, and his friends and loved ones are gathering together to ease his recovery. Although open-heart surgery is a long and intense procedure in itself, the recovery process is what determines how well the patient will be able to return to his life, and we want to make that process as easy for him as possible. From taking care of his loved ones when we're sick to the evergreen offers to tour The Bay from the sky, Jeff has always shown up for those in his life. Stubborn as he may be, this is our chance to give back to the man who has given us so much! The most important part of getting our Jeff up and running (and flying!) again is his recovery, and we are starting this fund so that we can make that convalescence as smooth and worry-free as possible.  While unemployed from a career in IT during the pandemic, he was able to supplement his income by studying his butt off to get his pilot instructor’s license, thus achieving a lifelong dream in the process. Unfortunately he’s got to stay grounded and delay the job search until he’s well again. He also will not be able to drive a vehicle for six weeks. While he’s unemployed, this fund will give him that time so he can get on his feet and stay a part of all our lives for many years to come! 

The complication of dealing with COVID with a tough recovery make this especially hard (and expensive). Our contributions will help pay for all aspects of Jeff’s postoperative care:

-An accessible hotel room after his release from the hospital. This is vital since he will not be able to climb stairs, and will need accommodation for a -24/7 caretaker for the early part of recovery.
-At-home care during the critical two weeks after the surgery
-Supplemental income to replace the flight lessons Jeff was teaching
-Funding for basic necessities as Jeff recovers and reboots his job search
