Environmental Learning Center

Hi, this is Jeff, Anamor and Dani from Finca Sol y Valle. We are asking farm visitors, family, friends, and nature lovers everywhere to help us complete an environmental learning center in Costa Rica. We have accumulated enough funds to begin the construction of the learning center this year. Look out for updates on the build this year, and please help us raise the funds to get it finished!

Over the last six years, a group of young professionals has been conserving the forest on the farm, reforesting with native trees, planting 100s of fruit trees, and terracing organic vegetable garden beds on our farm - "Sun and Valley" farm. We are already growing 400+ valuable plants and trees, which attracts 70+ species of birds in just 4 acres! So far, we have built an outdoor dining area, greenhouse, a 2-chamber dry toilet with solar water heater, a composting center, rainwater tanks, a teepee, a recycling center, and a cabin made from sustainable materials like bamboo, earth, and rocks earth from our land.

As a first-generation college grad and professional engineer, saving for a classroom/post-harvest center is a struggle. The structure will allow us to teach visitors, invite speakers, and get our farm products to market. Our mission is to make a significant contribution to human and environmental consciousness. Please help with the last key piece for our learning center to create long-term financial stability and contribute to our efforts to find harmony between humanity and nature!

¡Hola! Somos un equipo de jóvenes profesionales en proceso de completar un centro de aprendizaje ambiental en Costa Rica. Hemos trabajado un terreno en Cartago durante 4 años reforestando, sembrando hortalizas orgánicas, creando un bosque comestible con mas de 100 árboles frutales y haciendo bio-construcción con materiales naturales y locales. Hemos construido un invernadero, centro de reciclaje, centro de compostaje, tanques de agua de lluvia, un tipi, y una cabaña hecha con materiales reciclados, piedra y bambú de nuestro terreno.

Ahora estamos buscando los fondos para construir una aula/centro de bienestar y post-cosecha. Esta estructura nos permitirá llevar nuestro producto orgánico al mercado, recibir grupos e invitar a profesores que comparten sus conocimientos.

Nuestra misión es hacer una gran contribución a la conciencia humana y ambiental. Por favor, ayudénnos con esta inversión para abrir nuestro centro de aprendizaje con donaciones y compartiendo esta campaña de recaudación de fondos.
