Help Jehad Evacute From Gaza

This is Batool Eldred from Calgary, Canada, and I’m hosting this fundraising campaign for my dear friend, Jehad Shehada, from Gaza, Palestine.

Jehad is an extraordinary man. He studied biomedical engineering at Al-Azhar University in Gaza, and he was the second top student in his class. Thus, he worked as a teacher assistant after he had graduated in 2019. He is also a co-author of a scientific research in his field, Development of Vibro-Tactile Braille Display and Keyboard. Jehad has an interest in business, so he worked in sales and marketing for nearly 3 years (until the genocide in Gaza started, he lost his work). He also learned graphic design as a hobby, and he plans to get professional in the field once he survives Gaza’s current tragedy and travels to a safer place.

Moreover, Jehad has a great voice. He used to sing and do voice-over as he is a content creator on Instagram (his account is @Jehad_Shehada). Jehad is so talented that he won the first place in the Gaza-Vision contest, organized by We Are Not Numbers. It has been 145 days of indiscriminate attacks in the Gaza Strip and the situation is worsening. Jehad has made the heartbreaking decision to leave his home in Gaza City of 27 years to Egypt.

Jehad’s target is 15,000 CAD, the money will contribute to getting him out of Gaza and sustain his life for a short amount of time until he is able to settle down, and get back on his feet. He will be leaving in the hope of working abroad and then supporting his family who are unable to leave in Gaza.

The total amount will be sent to Jehad via Western Union or a secure payment method.

Here is a message from Jehad:

I want to live. I want to start over. I want a second chance in life. 27 years in Gaza, I've endured all challenging circumstances – 5 wars, a 17-year blockade, and a suffocating economic squeeze. I was only 12 years old during the first war in 2008, and in 2012, another war erupted, followed by 2014 and the prelude to the last war in 2021. Now, I find myself in the midst of one of the fiercest wars the world has ever witnessed. Countless massacres and violence unfold, and the extent of the destruction from this barbaric aggression is indescribable. My city was destroyed, leading us to relocate from the north to the south of the Gaza Strip, facing hardships like food and water shortages. Gaza is unlivable.

Life in Gaza during the genocide came to a significant standstill. Schools, colleges, shopping centers, and hospitals – all the essentials of life – were destroyed. Our future looks bleak without a glimmer of hope or the provision of basic necessities.

I've tried to persevere, enduring the harsh conditions of war, but now I believe I've reached the maximum capacity to endure such hardships. We didn't expect the war to last this long, and we struggle to access life essentials like food and water, even if available, the prices have multiplied.

I don't think any human in this world deserves to endure such misery or has the capacity to live through it. All I want is to leave, seize the opportunity for a better life, and start anew. Here, there are no guarantees for anyone’s life, safety, or future.
