Help Jen and her family in their time of need!

Earlier this year I was diagnosed with a very rare auto immune disease called Dermatomyositis, after being unwell for almost a year. In September my physical health declined even further despite starting medication and I was admitted to hospital where things rapidly went downhill. A combination of my disease along with pneumonia resulted in me being intubated and having a tracheotomy performed, the full details I still do not remember and don’t feel mentally strong enough to learn about yet. As of today I have been in critical care for over 6 weeks where I have been learning to breath on my own without a ventilator for periods in the day, stand up, sit in a chair and start to learn to swallow water and talk again.

Through all of this my incredible husband Jeff has been caring for our 2 young children while still having to work, he truly is my hero and we’re incredibly grateful for everyone that has come forward to help with childcare through this incredibly difficult time.

On Top of everything we learnt that my PIP claim was stopped as the government stop all payments if you spend over 28days in hospital as they deem them to be meeting my care needs, but we still have bills to pay and it will not be restarted until I return home. Jeff had already cut his work hours a few months ago to care for me as I was getting more unwell so to have this money stopped is a stress we really didn’t need.

So we have started this fundraiser to help us meet our bills while I’m in hospital, as well as being able to buy equipment/furniture to help make my home as safe and accessible for me so when I am ready to be discharged everything is in place.
