Help Jen as she battles breast cancer
My name is Emma Pospisil and I'm setting up this GoFundMe page, with other family members, in support of my daughter Jennifer Pospisil. Jen was recently diagnosed with breast cancer: Stage 1 / Grade 3, Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. As a single mom of 3, Jen would appreciate any financial help while she manages doctor appointments, chemotherapy treatment, and recovery for the next 6-9 months.
Jen left her healthcare job in March, to pursue a real estate license, only to be diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after that. Thankfully, Medicaid is covering all medical bills. However, without a job, Jen needs financial support to cover her mortgage and other financial necessities during this battle.
Jen had an annual mammogram October 2020 which showed normal imaging. In March 2021, she found a lump. Diagnostic imaging recommended a biopsy which diagnosed breast cancer in her right breast. Since then, she has undergone a bilateral MRI, another right diagnostic mammo, a left breast ultrasound, a right stereotactic biopsy, a left ultrasound-guided biopsy, a left MRI-guided biopsy, a CT scan, bone scan, and pelvic ultrasound. Although all imaging has come back with benign results, Jen does have a high risk lesion in her left breast as well. Depending on how her body does with chemotherapy (which started on 05/18/2021), she will either get a double lumpectomy+radiation, or a double mastectomy in 5-6 months.
Jen's life has always been focused on loving the unloved, abused, and underprivileged. Over the past two decades, she found joy leading worship at multiple churches, was a leader in youth ministry, led in women's groups, traveled to Costa Rica and Afghanistan to listen and learn and to bring hope and love, traveled to Houston to help victims of Hurricane Harvey, and became a victim advocate with her local police department. Jen also worked at a home for girls rescued out of sex trafficking with a local organization that asked her to be a keynote speaker at one of their fundraising galas.
One of her favorite verses is:
Philippians 4:8
"Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true,
whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,
whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of
praise, think about these things".
Although she is focused on fighting to stay positive and ridding her body of this disease, Jen is still in need of financial help.
If you are unable to give at this time, please do not feel pressure, we completely understand. No matter your capacity with financial help, we are grateful for your prayers and for any good thoughts.
