Help Jen & Kelsey escape a scary situation

The wonderful Jenfoo and Kelsey found themselves living under threat from their landlord, who had been ramping up his unhinged threats of violence until finally they had to pick up and move this week at a moment's notice. In Jen's words from last week:

"We’ve known from the start of our lease that our landlord was a genuinely horrible human being, but we thought we could handle an asshole; what we didn’t realize was that he could also be really fucken terrifying. After a police officer visited our house, asking about his whereabouts, and a news story broke shortly after about his savagely abusive behavior toward a prospective tenant, complete with physical threats (see link here:

OH AND THEN we found out he is, three years later, still in a

protracted legal battle with the previous tenant of our unit because he refuses to return her deposit, and telling her if she didn’t capitulate to his demands, she wasn’t as safe as she thought, because he was going to hire a gunman (off craigslist!). OH AND THEN the downstairs tenants shared the abusive, haranguing emails he sent when they informed him that they weren’t available to show the apartment to prospective clients on the dates he demanded.

And now he wants us out of the apartment as soon as possible, and we are definitely not arguing. Our bank account heartily disagrees, however.

We are both disabled, both working full time, both desperate to get the fuck out of here as soon as possible."

They got out! But it took money they didn't have to do it. Times are tough; they're very broke and could use help to get through this situation while keeping their dogs and cats fed. Can we scramble up some crowdfunding to cover their emergency moving costs?
