In July of 2020 Jen's world changed dramatically with the diagnosis of ovarian cancer at age 47. As we all know Jen is not one looking for pity or attention. She is strong, she is a fighter, and has a very strong faith. In her own words, she is stubborn and she will continue to fight. Throughout her entire ordeal she has only asked for prayers and positive thoughts.
Her life since July of 2020 has been full of tests, Dr's. appointments and treatments along with more tests, appointments and treatments. Unfortunately, each time she has been set up for surgery her cancer has spread too much and she was sent back to the drawing board. This has happened more than once-each disappointment, each change in treatment continues to take a toll on Jen.
She has continued to work throughout everything and if you have known Jen professionally, she is one of the best around. She gives her all to her patients. Not only that-she gives her all to her family, kids and husband. She is a wonderful friend, daughter, sister, aunt and co-worker....she is one who gives support and love freely.
Unfortunately Jen's most recent treatment/surgery she was to have at Hillman Cancer Center did not go as planned. Her surgery was cancelled and she is back home awaiting the beginning of chemotherapy in the attempt to shrink some of her tumors and hopefully relieve some of her pain. Throughout this Jen has been determined to continue her work at UPMC. As of now with the pain she is in and the challenges she faces with her next course of treatment we feel this is not the time to be working or having to worry about medical bills. We have formed this GoFundMe for Jen and her family to ease their worries during this difficult time. We want Jen to focus on continuing the fight and being with her family.
Please feel free to donate and/or share in whatever capacity so we can show Jen all the love!
