Help Jeremy Breathe Easier
Donation protected
In May, Jeremy went to Allen County Hospital. He was having difficulty breathing and his heart was racing. What we assumed to possibly be a small infection quickly turned for the worst. Allen County Hospital life flighted Jeremy to Saint Luke's Hospital. Not only was he quickly found to have a high fever but his resting heart rate was 160 with fluid on both his heart and lungs. Swiftly, they used a catheter to drain as much fluid off his heart as they could. Yet, they still had to put him on a ventilator. This infection was taking hold and for a moment it looked very grim. Tubes were placed in him, continuously draining fluid from around his heart and off his lungs. To complicate matters further, they also discovered a massive GI bleed. In an attempt to correct this, they had to use five clips to control the bleeding. He was so dire, he had IV ports on both sides of his neck and had to have a second drainage tube. Sadly, he was in this drug-induced, comatose state for 3 days and in the ICU for an additional 18 days. Finally, we thought he was beginning to recover. He spent an additional 4 weeks in the hospital on oxygen monitoring his condition. They could not discover the cause of this infection even after countless cultures, labs, and X-rays. After a gut-wrenching 7 weeks in the hospital, we were finally able to take Jeremy home. Unfortunately, that didn't last long. After less than 2 weeks in the comfort of their own beds, they found the fluid and infection are back. Among more bad news, we learned Jeremy does not qualify for short-term disability and it could be up to 5 months before he can resume normal activities again. This man that works hard day in and day out for his family at B&W is having problems simply getting through the day. Now we have to figure out finances at a time when finances are already hard. At this time, we know the estimated out-of-pocket is approximately $50,000 ..... If we are lucky. Please, help Jeremy Kinzer to pay for not only these medical bills but to keep his family afloat during all of this. Times are tough, but if we come together as a community, I know we can help this family get past this difficult situation and remove a burden from their load that is already so very heavy.
**After another week in the hospital he is finally home once more! He is sore and has new scarring from the three new drainage tubes he had put in, but he is fairing well. Sadly this means he missed the Fourth of July with his children and family but we are just happy to have him home. Please continue to pray for his healing. Thank you for your continued support.
