We’re reaching out to rally around Jeremy Reedy, our beloved 9-year-old Godson, nephew, and a courageous fighter, as he continues his battle against leukemia. In April, 2023, Jeremy was diagnosed with CML, a rare form of leukemia in children. While at first an inhibitor drug kept the leukemia under control, in August, 2024, Jeremy’s condition entered a new acute phase (AML) that required chemotherapy and an eventual bone marrow transplant.
Recently, Jeremy has faced an incredibly tough 4 months filled with hospital stays, continuous treatments, and countless trips back and forth to Santa Clara. Through it all, Jeremy has remained positive, resilient, and unwavering in his fight.
Jeremy recently finished a chemo treatment, wearing a 24/7 immunotherapy chemo drug backpack. But here’s the BIG NEWS: Stanford has found a donor—a full match all the way from Germany! This amazing person has generously agreed to donate their bone marrow to give Jeremy a fighting chance at recovery.
The Journey Ahead
Jeremy’s bone marrow transplant is scheduled for January 6th, 2025, marking a critical step in his fight. To prepare, he’ll leave for Stanford right after Christmas to undergo intense radiation treatment. Following the transplant, Jeremy will face:
- 6-8 weeks of hospitalization to monitor his recovery
- 2 months of post-hospital care requiring him to stay within 30 minutes of Stanford
This journey is filled with hope but also comes with overwhelming expenses, including:
- Travel, lodging, and living costs near Stanford for several months (which is far from their home in Brentwood, CA)
- Medical bills not covered by insurance
- Post-treatment medications and therapies
- Lost income during his treatment and recovery

We’ve created this GoFundMe to help alleviate the financial strain on Jeremy’s parents, Laura and Jason, so they can focus on what truly matters—his health and recovery, and supporting Jeremy’s siblings, Justin, Kimberly, and twin brother Jeffrey. This is a family busy with school, sports, Scouts, two full time jobs (for Laura & Jason), and a part time job (for Justin). Our goal is to raise $50,000 to ensure Jeremy gets the care and support he needs during this critical time.
