Help for Jeremy Friesen’s Family

Donation protected
Our dear friend Jeremy passed away suddenly and peacefully on Friday June 30th. He was surrounded by love in the room and from afar. We were all so fortunate to have known such a beautiful soul. A celebration in honour of Jer is being organized and we’ll update with details once confirmed. The generosity this community has shown the Friesens has been amazing and they now need our ongoing support as they navigate the heartbreak of losing Jer. Jer didn’t have life insurance, and Amy hopes to remain part time at work for now so that she can be there as much as possible for the boys. If you’d like to send Amy and the boys ongoing support through a monthly etransfer, message us and we’ll send you account details.

Let’s promise to remember the things Jer taught us. To carry a piece of him on. To laugh harder and louder and more often. To encourage those around us and enjoy this beautiful world as much as possible. To get completely lost in the music…and the moments we’re blessed with…just like Jer. We’ll always love you Jer.

In April 2022, our friend Jeremy Friesen was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. It is a shocking blow to his family and friends. He is now undergoing very intense chemo treatment which leaves him extremely tired and sick a lot of the time, though he faces it with typical Jer optimism and grace.

Jer is the best of us. He’s a loving father of three boys, husband to Amy, a gifted musician, and an incredibly supportive and generous friend. Jeremy’s enthusiasm for the people in his life and for life itself is infectious and inspiring.

We, his friends, love him and Amy and their boys so much and are asking people to join us in giving — to show love, to offer support, to do something that will help ease some of the strain that this serious illness has brought them.

Jer is unable to work and earn what was the bulk of their family’s income. Amy is working fewer hours at her job to care for him and the kids. Neither of them have extended benefits and the exorbitant cost of prescription meds are adding up.

Please join us in donating to our friends, whose future has suddenly become very
uncertain in every way. All funds raised go directly to the Friesen family.
