Help Jeremy Kick Cancer’s Butt

Donation protected
If you know Jeremy, you love him. He is nurturing, kind, loving, tender hearted, has a smile (with dimples) that lights up a room and would give you the shirt off his back. He is also strong, competitive, and stubborn. As Jeremy goes through this cancer journey, I hope you will join us by tapping into your giving side so that Jeremy can focus on being strong and stubborn and kicking cancer’s butt.

In March 2023, Jeremy turned 30. We celebrated him with a crawfish boil along with friends and family including his wife, Kathleen and daughters Oliva (3) and Elaina (1). We also celebrated that in September, their beautiful family will become a family of 5. They will welcome baby boy, Wilder.

A month later, Jeremy’s world (and our world) turned upside down when he heard the dreaded words, “You have cancer.” Jeremy has Stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Jeremy first noticed he had a painless swollen lymph node that prompted him to see his doctor in late April. After having an ultrasound, CT scans, and a biopsy they diagnosed him with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. After another round of testing and a PET scan Jeremy was diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The treatment for Jeremy consists of 2 rounds (4 doses) of intense ABVD chemo. This treatment is very tough on patients and Jeremy has been told he will not be able to work during his treatment due to the side effects and being immunocompromised. Jeremy received his first dose on May 26 and will be receiving the second part of round 1 of chemo on June 9.

Jeremy and Kathleen met when they both attended Copiah Academy. They later reconnected, fell in love and started their family in Brandon, Mississippi. Jeremy worked for several years as a nurse at Copiah County Medical Center. In 2021, he took a job closer to home. He currently works as an operating room nurse at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

After having their second child in March 2022, Jeremy and Kathleen’s family decided it was best for Kathleen to stay home full-time with the girls, so they are a one-income household. Unfortunately, because of the nature of Jeremy’s cancer, the treatment required and the length of his treatment, the doctors told Jeremy he would be unable to work. Some of his amazing co-workers donated hours of PTO (paid time off) for him, but even with his own PTO and the donated time, he will still need to be out of work for an undetermined amount of time to heal and get well. Once Jeremy’s paid leave expires, their one-income family will become a no-income family.

It’s hard asking for help, especially for money. However, that’s exactly what Jeremy and his family need right now. Please help us by donating to assist with his expenses including medical bills, car notes, utilities, food, gas and diapers. Any amount you can provide is greatly appreciated. We also ask for continued prayers for Jeremy’s healing. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support in helping Jeremy kick cancer’s butt.

There’s also a meal train set up to help with food:
