Help Jeremy Relocate for Life-Changing Transplant

As you know, we'll soon be waiting Jeremy's turn to receive a liver transplant. Part of that waiting involves being within close proximity to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. By protocol, we must be within 6 hours of Mayo (not by commercial flight). While waiting for transplant, Jeremy will have ongoing scans + bloodwork, while continuing his maintenance chemo plan. When Jeremy does get the call that a liver is ready for him, he could be in surgery as quickly as 4, but no more than 12, hours from the moment we hang up the phone.

Therefore, we will need to temporarily relocate to the Jacksonville area while we wait. Additionally, post-transplant, Jeremy has to be within 30 minutes of Mayo for multiple follow-up visits over the first 21-28 days.

While we have a small insurance benefit to help with our living expenses AFTER transplant, we have to make what could be months of waiting work as well! We've been in communication with a handful of short/long-term lease options to find something that will feel like a home away from home, allow us the ability to bring Belle, continue working, and be comfortable while we navigate the unknown and the waiting game. (All while ensuring our home in Maine is cared for and safe throughout the winter months.)

We've decided to reach out to our amazing support system for help. We're looking to raise funds that will help us pay for rent and living expenses for 6 months. We're hoping we aren't waiting more than 6 months, but we truly do not know. If a miracle occurs and he's pulled off the list in record timing, we promise to put any unused "rent" money towards medical expenses and Jeremy's recovery.
