Help Jerry fight Double Hit Lymphoma

My name is Kim Schweiger, Jerry is my Brother-in-law who is married to my sister Tammy Cozzi.

If you know Jerry, you would know that he is as strong as an ox. He’s always been physically fit, lifting weights in his home gym daily. Jerry started his career at 18years old in the Navy(Active Duty), then Navy reserve, followed by the Minnesota Army National Guard with a combined 14 years of service.

Over the last year Jerry had not been feeling well. Symptoms lingered long before a cancer diagnosis. He underwent several series of tests and procedures as well as numerous visits to Mayo and Health Partners Methodist Hospital for the cause of his ailments. He was eventually diagnosed with Double Hit Lymphoma.

A brief message from his daughter Brooke (Cozzi)Miller :

“Jerry Cozzi (my dad) was diagnosed with Diffused Large B Cell “Double Hit” (MYC and BCL6) Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma with “High risk features” (brain involvement). He has been so sick with symptoms beginning early January 2023.

He endured six rounds of week-long inpatient chemo therapy. After all of this chemo he thought he was done with treatment and could get back to his regular life but life is never that simple – and cancer treatment isn’t done until it’s done. My dad needs a second round of treatment that was not expected for any of us.

Next comes the transplant procedures starting on January 31st which includes a PICC line and the harvesting of his own cells. He is required to live in Rochester, MN near Mayo for a full 6 weeks during the stem cell transplant process. This involves an inpatient stay then several outpatient.”

Together, his family and friends rally around him in care and determination to fight, battle, and win this war against cancer.
