Help Jess Save Her Roof
Donation protected
Hi I'm Jess.
We missed out on a good number of the tornadoes that hit the Midwest, but we were not immune to the winds. The next day after the storms came thru a massive section of tree fell on our house. It was weakened by the storms and completely tore up our roof. The other half of the tree was weakened and broke in sections threatening to fall on our neighbor's house.
Luckily none was hurt but were going into winter and this far south we get more rain than snow. Our insurance deductible is Three thousand dollars and the tree removal will be another two thousand dollars. I work from home as a furry commission artist so I can take care of my disabled brother, and mother. My father broke his foot at work and is fighting for disability. He has been off of work since last year.
Right now my husband works the lions share of our household income since cons are slowly reopening after the pandemic and I haven't been able to attend cons for income. This came as a shock to us we were getting the property line assessed to see how and who would be best to take care of the tree. We did have birds using the tree for nests so we had no rush to take it down . Luckily my husband was home otherwise none would have been safely able to access the roof.
The other half of the tree threatens to fall on our neighbors house and we have gotten a two thousand dollar quote to take down the other half of the tree. Since the storm it has broken in several places and we cant be too sure for how long it will hold out before it falls. We don't want our neighbors to have to deal with the same kind of problem.
Thank you so much to anyone who can help or share in our time of need.
