Help Jess Webb Beat Cancer!

Donation protected
I met Jess in 2006 when I lived in Milwaukee, WI––if anyone heard of the Bartlett house days, that was the place. When Jess moved back to WA, I made a point to come out and see her and I was lucky enough to be able to be an integral part of her life and see Scarlett, her daughter, grow into a beautiful young woman. Jess has been there through all my momentous moments, sad moments, late-night calls, laughs, and tears—and everything in between. I finally moved to WA in 2017 and spent three years with her and Scarlett before moving to Georgia for work. I am far away now and miss them both so much every day— starting this gofundme for her is something I can do from afar.

Those fortunate to know Jess Webb know she is one tough cookie who will brighten your day with her positive energy and no-nonsense approach to life. Her Jess-isms probably make you laugh or motivate you when you need to hear advice—and you probably have a good story or two of when she pulled through and was there for you when you needed her the most. Jess is a kind, honest, loving mother, friend, coworker, sister, daughter and partner. She has positively impacted so many lives, and now it is time for us to come together and support her in the toughest battle of her life, her battle against cancer.

If this is your first time hearing this news—well, it’s not surprising because she doesn’t often ask for help. Here is a little backstory for you.

Last year she started noticing that she wasn’t feeling well and was losing a lot of weight. She assumed it was just the stress of losing her father and grandmother in the same year. On January 4th, 2023 she went in and had a colonoscopy. On February 1st, at the age of 41, she was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer.

Your generous donations will go directly to Jess and her family to support them with the following expenses:

-Treatment not covered by insurance
-Travel expenses to the Cancer Partnership Providence Regional center and hospitals
-Loss of income due to Jess being off work
-Medications

On February 21st, Jess starts a grueling six weeks of intense daily oral chemotherapy and external beam radiation therapy. After this, she will start an additional 16 weeks of chemotherapy (with a port) to help remove the remaining cancer in her five lymph nodes. If everything goes as planned and the process is successful, she will have surgery to remove the tumor with a temporary stoma (as Jess calls it.. aka: a temporary shit bag) put in. She anticipates this entire journey to take at least a year—but it’s curable and if you know JMFW, she will beat this!
