Lighten the Load for Mark and Jess During this Health Crisis

If you can, please help us provide some financial relief to Jessica Clearwater and Mark Mason so they can focus on Mark's long road to recovery from a debilitating heart attack.

Since the weekend of June 15th, our dear friend Mark Mason has been fighting for his life. He was admitted to the local hospital with chest pains, then transferred to Baptist Hospital where the doctors confirmed two blockages (his main artery was 100% blocked - aka a "widow maker") and that he was actively having a heart attack. They immediately prepped him for open heart bypass surgery. The recovery has been extremely challenging. Mark was slowly weaned off the ventilator amidst stressful periods of atrial fibrillation. High fevers raised concerns about possible infection. His heart function has been lower than hoped. Since June 30th, he's been resting at home while he awaits cardiac rehab, but he has continued to struggle with atrial fibrillation and low heart function. On 7/28 he had an a-fib episode leading to unconsciousness, and as of writing this he has been readmitted to the hospital.

Mark and Jessica are both self-employed and during this very difficult time Jess has continued bringing her creative and specialized catering services to many special events and occasions in the Boone and Blowing Rock areas, and occasionally beyond. This is her busiest time of the year, and she's working through the pain, stress, and uncertainty. This would normally be a very busy season for Mark, who provides landscape, carpentry and home caretaking services for many loyal clients in the Boone and Blowing Rock areas. Mark is also a right-hand to Jess in her catering business. Mark is unable to work for now.

As you can imagine, this is already a very difficult time for both Jess and Mark, and when you add the pressures of lost income and increased medical bills, it seems overwhelming.
