Help Jessica's Journey to Oregon for her Financial Security

Oregon or Bust
My name is Nadia, and I'd like you to meet my friend, Jessica Dearborn, and her dog, Fiona. I've known her for 16 years. She is funny, giving, and strong. However, she needs our help this time. Jessica lives in San Diego, CA, and works as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at a nonprofit (a DSP works with clients with developmental and/or physical disabilities). When she tells me of her work, I can hear her happiness. Yet, the cost of living in San Diego has soared, and in May, Jessica lost half of her monthly income. She is struggling both financially and emotionally due to the stress and is not making enough money to continue to support herself there and will not be able to stay in her home much longer.
Since the cost of living has skyrocketed in San Diego, Jessica has to make the tough decision to leave her home and family. She's been offered a job in Oregon that begins this fall to continue helping people with disabilities, but she doesn't have the funds to get there. With this new opportunity, she will make more money doing what she loves, where living costs less.
Here's where we come in. Jessica has explored the cost of moving from San Diego to Oregon and has compiled a spreadsheet that breaks down the costs. The move with Wrightway Shipping costs $7,250; she also has to have enough money for the drive up there and to settle in a bit. She is not asking for support with her current situation in San Diego – she's asking for help getting her to Oregon so Jessica can live a healthier, more fulfilling life and make the money she needs to survive.
Please share this fundraiser. I appreciate you taking the time to read it. Any donation amount helps and goes directly to her moving costs!
Jessica will be video journaling her move, so check her Facebook/Instagram page to follow along!
