For the past 7 years, my in-laws, Chris and Linda Johnson—lifetime locals of Venice—have poured their hearts into Jetty Jack’s, transforming it into a lively, beloved spot located directly on the Gulf Coast in Venice, Florida. This small, family-owned business has become a staple in the community—welcoming locals and visitors alike to enjoy great food, good vibes, and breathtaking views of the beach.
Sadly, Hurricane Helene has brought unimaginable devastation to Jetty Jack’s. This morning, Chris and Linda were told by a Venice police officer on the scene that the City of Venice will be condemning the building due to severe storm damage. The flooding has not only destroyed the structure but also wiped out their inventory and equipment—everything they’ve worked so hard to build over the last seven years.
To make matters worse, because Jetty Jack’s is located on the waterfront, they could not secure flood insurance. The condemnation means Chris and Linda have lost their business, leaving them without a clear path forward and devastated by the loss of everything they’ve worked for.
The road ahead is uncertain, but one thing is clear: our family is doing everything we can to rally the community and help The Johnsons through this. This GoFundMe is about supporting what comes next for Chris and Linda.
Let’s come together as a community to show Chris and Linda how much Jetty Jack’s means to all of us. Your contributions will provide them with the resources to rebuild their dream and find solid ground again.
No donation is too small—every contribution makes a difference. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this campaign to help us spread the word.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support!
