Help Jewel Beat Thyroid Cancer!!

Hello, everyone! Back in 2018, I adopted an 8 month old rescue from Every Dogs Dream who came from a hoarding situation. Her name is Jewel. She was, as most dogs from such a scenario go, very fearful and timid. Imagining what she went through is impossible, and yet, she came out willing to trust and open up in remarkable time! :) She's truly an empathic, loving, pure soul as far as dogs go. She continues to be a ray of sunshine for us on even the darkest days.. and that's where this fundraiser now plays part.

In recent months, a small lump was noticed in her neck, which at the time was thought to be nothing more than perhaps a swollen lymphnode, I was told to keep an eye on it, and I did. Nothing happened for months, but then two months ago during a bath, we noticed the lump had grown substantially larger. Since then, I have taken Jewel to multiple vet appointments, and as of today ( April 24th 2025 ) a visit with VMC ( Veterinary Medical Center ) and one of their surgeons has informed me she is 99% positive Jewel has Thyroid Cancer and has recommended a thyroidectomy. I was given a quote for 2700 to get a CT Scan alone, and her surgery to have the mass removed is 6000. This doesn't include the possible costs of the aftermath of surgery, as there's always the possibility that she may need some sort of treatment if they deem it necessary.

I am retired and on a fixed income, and cannot afford the care she needs on my own, unfortunately.. so I decided that the best thing I can do for her - the hardest thing for me to do as someone who usually can handle everything life throws my way on my own - is to ask you, the person(s) seeing this for help. Any donation will help me give this wonderful, joyous fur baby many more years to bask in the sun and share her love and light with her family and friends. As I understand completely that many people are struggling right now, even just sharing this with as many people in as many places as possible will greatly increase the success of this.
