Help Heal Jiggy: Surgery for a Sweet Cat

This sweet, broken baby is named Jiggy (short for Jigsaw, after my favorite Radiohead song). Jiggy has spent the first few years of her life as a barn cat, prowling for mice and other pests around the horse stable where I work. She's been very, very good at it. Unfortunately, the stable where Jiggy lived, and where I still work, is closing at the end of August, and Jiggy's options looked bleak unless someone could take her home with them.

I was happy to make that happen. She was meant to come home with me after a vet visit for vaccinations and testing on July 31st.

But while Jiggy is a brilliant little huntress, she is not so wise around horses. She was stepped on today, July 22nd, and her radius near her elbow snapped clean. The displacement is severe and requires surgery. Without it, she risks chronic lameness and pain—if her bones manage to heal at all.

Jiggy is among the sweetest animals I've ever encountered. She's worth every bit of stress, scrambling, heartache, and joy I've felt since I decided to take her home. With or without the surgery, her future is filled with pampering, safety indoors, and love. I want the best and more for her.

Please help me make her full physical recovery possible.
