Help Jill Rebuild Her Dog Rescue Home

Donation protected
I am raising money for my Aunt Jill, who has been rescuing local street dogs for the last 22 years. Along with her partner Lise, they have aided in the adoption of over 600 dogs, neutered and released over 100 dogs that were too skittish to be adopted, and provided love and comfort to over 30 dogs, who were beyond help, until they passed peacefully. Jill’s home, a very small structure on a plantation, has become the home of this rescue of which there are around 25 dogs at any given time waiting to be adopted.

Jill spends 70% of her monthly income over the past 22 years on bringing these dogs back to health and assisting in curbing the street dog population and fighting the dog meat trade in Kaohsuing. She is and has been officially broke since she started this rescue but refuses to give up.

Yesterday, A strong typhoon made landfall on China’s southeastern coast after sweeping across the nearby island of Taiwan, where it caused landslides and flooding in low-lying areas. Sadly, the typhoon devastated the plantation, Jill’s home and rescue, and took everything she has. The water is up to her hips, food and resources have been demolished. The dogs have been relocated with her friends for the time being in hopes that she can get the plantation cleaned to bring them back. Many of these dogs are in the middle of rehabilitation or are too young or senior to be on their own. They will sadly be released to the streets if the rescue is not a viable option for them to be housed.

Jill left the states over 25 years ago to fight the dog meat trade in Asia and has stayed and fought ever since. Her love for animals is unparalleled. It pains me to see that everything has been taken from her and these animals have been left to suffer. We are asking for help to provide funds to rebuild the rescue and provide food and medication for the animals. After this devastating typhoon, we know animals are in need of help now more than ever.

Please help Jill and Lise bring back Gone to the Dogs so they can continue the great and necessary work they are doing.
