Help Jillian and Her Family Fight Cancer

Donation protected
Jillian is a 5-year-old girl who loves all things princess, doing arts/crafts and playing outside. In March 2020, Jillian was diagnosed with a malignant germ cell tumor that took up most of her pelvis area and had metastasized to her lungs. Doctors at Riley were quick to diagnose and treat her with 4 rounds of chemotherapy. Following that treatment protocol she was declared cancer-free in May 2020. A few months later, she relapsed and underwent 4 more rounds of a different chemotherapy regimen. On December 31, 2020 Jillian gave Daddy the best birthday present— she was declared cancer-free We quickly resumed normal life and haven’t looked back. Fast-forward to July 26, 2023…Jillian went in for her routine, semi-annual bloodwork. It showed that her tumor marker (which had stayed within the normal range for 2.5 years!) had risen dramatically. The next day Jillian had a CT scan that confirmed the relapse (a small tumor in her tailbone area).

Luckily, the oncology team still has treatment options for Jillian! The surgeon will attempt to surgically remove the tumor. Then, 2 rounds of chemotherapy followed by 3 rounds of a stronger chemo paired with stem cell transplants. This is, by far, is the most intense treatment protocol Jillian’s body has been put through. We pray and believe that this course of treatment is what it takes to allow her to live the rest of her days cancer-free!

We know that we cannot walk this road alone. We appreciate all of the love and support we have received to date and hate that we have to ask again. However, the need is there. Erin will need to step away from work for a semester to be by Jillian’s side throughout treatment. This GoFundMe will help off-set the lost wages and other costs that come with taking an extended unpaid leave (i.e., insurance premiums). We are thankful for Children with Special Healthcare Needs supplemental health coverage that will cover whatever medical care our primary insurance does not. Medical bills will not be a concern due to this government program. Any donations that come in above and beyond what is needed will be donated to childhood cancer research.
