Help Jim and Shannon Through This Crisis
Donation protected
I am not sure where to start. I am not sure I will even have the right words to express the need this couple has right now and in the months/years to come.
A few weeks ago, Jim complained of belly pain and impending doom. Shannon (a nurse) called 911 and got him help. The nightmare began. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis from high triglycerides. Within 12 hours he was transferred to the ICU because his blood pressures dropped and he needed more meds to stabilize him. Unfortunately, his kidneys didn’t like any of this and they needed to put him on continuous dialysis. Shannon pushed for him to get transferred and after waiting another day, and getting put on a ventilator he was flighted to Milwaukee. His first night there was rough. I walked into his room that first day and the amount of lines, tubes, machines and IVs was overwhelming. It’s been a little over 2 weeks, and while progress has been small baby steps, right now he finds himself in another fight. As the doctors try to figure out the appropriate steps to help him heal, all I can think about is him and his family.
Shannon needed to take a leave of absence from her work (unpaid), and at the time she was the one working. They have 3 young and wonderful boys who need their parents. This journey is going to be long and they can use YOUR help! Medical bills, gas to MKE from GB, groceries and mortgage is starting to pile up and become stressful in this already stressful time. On top of this immediate situation, Shannon herself has stage 4 breast cancer. Needless to say, the last few years have been very hard on this family.
Life has unexpected twists and turns, and while I truly believe God doesn’t give anyone more than they can handle, this situation has them digging deep. Please consider a donation to assist with bills and life in this hard time. Show this giving family that there is a light and goodness in our trials.
