Help Joalice fight Leukemia!

Donation protected
This is the year Joalice was supposed to start high school, but instead she started her first round of chemo. Instead of taking a math test or drivers test, she is getting her bone marrow tested. When you think of the word “positive” you automatically think of something great. In this case… hearing “positive” was nothing close to great! Our sweet and innocent Joalice has been diagnosed with B-ALL Leukemia.

Before finding out about Joalice’s Leukemia, Whitney and Chris (step dad) lived a normal life with their 3 beautiful children in the city of Yakima. Chris works full time and Whitney is a SAHM. Soon, Joalice will turn 15 and was just about to start her freshman year, their 5 year old started Kindergarten and 4 year old is preparing to start preschool.

As you may have imagined, all their lives have been turned upside down. Whitney will be staying with Joalice in Seattle for at least 9 months, away from her other two girls. If all goes well, after the 9 months they will be released to go home, but will have to continue to go back to Seattle to visit frequently for long term to further treatment for the following year and a half and possibly longer.

Whitney’s husband Chris, and their two little girls will be staying at their home which is over 2 and a half hours away where Chris has a full time job. We will need biological father, Marcus and extended family to go to Seattle to be with Joalice every once in a while to give Whitney the chance to visit with Chris and their little ones at home due to Chris’s work. Chris will take the kids to see mom and sister frequently as well.

I know times are tough for everyone right now, especially with holidays around the corner, but if you are able to, even the smallest donation can greatly help this family with gas for back and forth trips between Seattle for their kids, Chris, and hopefully even for Marcus and extended family to get a hotel room to visit or to help out with Joalice since Whitney may be there alone for long periods. There is also the pending medical expenses and plane ride for first hospital visit in home town and Joalice’s 15th birthday coming up.

It will be a challenge to focus on other tasks while Joalice is in treatment, but we all have high hopes and from what the doctors have said, her outlook is great and she will have a great chance to overcome this with a long rocky journey. I would also like to take the time to thank everybody in advance! Thank you for taking the time to read Joalice’s story. Thank you for your donations. If you are not able to donate, please take the time to pray for Joalice and our family and please share Joalice’s story with the world and for that I am thankful!

All donations will go to my sister Whitney for my niece Joalice.
