Help Joanna and Mike Tatakis

Hi Everyone,

As many of you know, my dad, Mike, has been suffering from poor health for over a year now. He has recently been sent home on hospice care. Many of you also know the strain this has put on our business, Greek Cafe and Bakery, in the Bishop Arts District. As dad's sole caretaker, the restaurant has not been able to have regular hours for quite some time as I have tried to balance dad's needs and the business's.

Unfortunately, this balancing act is no longer possible. Our nearly 14 year old family business is at risk of closing for good, and since that is our sole source of income, we are in personal financial difficulty as well.

So, after careful thought, I have made the hard decision to make a public appeal to our friends, customers, and community for help. The funds raised here will help us to pay our rent and expenses that we have accumulated over the past month, in the near future, and try to buy us time to keep the business afloat as we navigate what to do.

My hope is enough can be raised to help hire a caregiver for dad, allowing me to open the restaurant.

I thank you so much for your support of our family restaurant over the last 14 years and for your patience over the last year and a half as we've tried to navigate difficult personal circumstances. And I truly thank you for whatever support you can offer us now.
