Help Joanna Ganz Recover from Bike Accident

Donation protected
On Memorial Day 2020 Joanna Ganz was in a nearly fatal bike accident. She was struck by a car while riding on a bike trail that crossed through an intersection. The driver did not look before he made a right turn into Joanna, who was launched into the street and landed headfirst onto the asphalt. Joanna was knocked unconscious, suffered a brain bleed, and sustained extensive injuries from head to toe.

Joanna had to hire a full-time caretaker as she was also unable to drive to her almost daily doctor appointments and testing. She was unable to get out of bed for 3 weeks and unable to walk for about 3 months due to pain in her legs, knees, and ankles. Joanna had to walk with a cane during that time which helped her become more mobile and she is now able to walk without it.

Joanna was also in and out of the hospital multiple times over the past year and has undergone 3 surgeries including one on her brain, and will need surgery on her neck in the near future.

Currently, she is in a variety of therapies daily, including physical, cognitive, speech, and occupational. During this lengthy recovery, Joanna must take it easy and is unable to work at this time due to impaired cognitive and motor function, speech, and vision issues.

On behalf of Joanna as well as her family and friends, we are setting up this GoFundMe page to help raise funds to alleviate the financial burden from this scary and unplanned event. The donations will go to her medical and living expenses. We are grateful for any amount as it will contribute to Joanna’s recovery efforts.
