Help JoAnne Rebuild After Hurricane Helene

Hello, I’m Joyce Emerson.

My sister, JoAnne Kushi lives in Asheville, NC with 2 of her children. As you all have probably heard, Hurricane Helene has devastated the whole Asheville community. My sister’s home took a very hard hit with flooding in their basement apartment and their garage storage. Large trees have fallen everywhere on their property, including on the roof of their home as well as on her car. Several large trees broke through the roof and collapsed the ceiling, allowing torrential rain and debris to fill the home. They have a long road ahead of them to rebuild their home to make it livable again.

They have filed insurance claims for the home and automobile, but were told that it will take months for the claims to be settled. The insurance companies don’t cover everything in full, and they will not cover any flood damage! We are hoping to give them a helping hand to start the process of rebuilding their home after this dreadful storm.
