Help Jody Ewing with Medical Expenses

Hi, I'm Kelli Berens-Brink from the TrueCrimeIRL podcast.
If you've ever researched an Iowa case, or even anywhere in the midwest, you have probably stumbled upon the work of Jody Ewing, and probably even used her work as a source for your own projects.
63-year-old Jody is the President & Founder of the non-profit organization, Iowa Cold Cases, INC. For years, she worked tirelessly as a private investigator, helping to solve Iowa's cold cases.
For 16 years, Jody has been on a mission to educate the public on unsolved murders and missing persons cases, in an effort to bring justice to victims and bring closure to their families.
Jody has been a priceless resource for those of us working on cases and she has worked closely with law enforcement, investigators, and families.
Her work has been cited in national publications, and she is one of the most well-respected and reputable names in true crime.
She has never taken money for this.
In fact, last year, the organization only brought in $500...not even enough to cover server fees and things like that. The money to fund this cause has always come straight out of Jody's pocket.
Now, I'm asking you to help Jody. And here's why.
She would never ask for help. So I am asking YOU.
In 2018, Jody was diagnosed with breast cancer, which started a domino effect of serious health problems. After six surgeries, and radiation treatment, her lungs and heart became so damaged that she had to have a pacemaker installed. She developed Interstitial Lung Disease, which is labeled as a fatal illness, but Jody's positive attitude has seen her through it for a year past her diagnosis now.
Breathing is a struggle. She's tired, in pain, and can't function as well as she could before. She shy's away from interviews now because her medical conditions and treatment have basically fried her vocal cords.
She said to me, "The cold cases have kept me going."
And it's true. She has never stopped fighting to be the voice of those who can no longer be heard.
Jody Ewing has a few wishes before she dies... (but she told me - "I'M NOT GOING TO DIE!") :-)
1. To finish writing her memoir about her life working to solve cold cases.
2. For more cold cases to be solved.
3. To move into a home that is better suited for her medical conditions (closer to her doctors, etc)
The true crime community is a wonderful one! I've seen what you can do and I know you awesome people can make a difference! Please donate to Jody's GoFundMe today.
THANK YOU!
