A helpful tribute to Joe and Franci

On November 22nd, 2021 at 4:15pm CST the world lost a wonderful man. His family lost their loving father, grandfather, uncle and husband. And we all lost our incredible friend Joe Sciorrotta way too soon. A veteran of the United States Marines, a maker of movies, an incredible actor, a cutter of hair, a sharpener of shears, a phone film maker of precious memories, a true Italian, a loving father, a loving husband and the best "thumbs upper" you ever did see. Joe will be missed by everyone that was lucky enough to see his smile. He left a hole in our hearts. We will miss you always Joe.

We have created this wonderful memorial and giving tree for friends and family to help with the cost of the funeral and help Franci through the holidays and into the next year as she gets her family and self on their feet and into the next chapter of life without Joe. In the past 9 months she hasn't been able to work as she had been running Joe to medical appointments around town for treatments and checkups. During the last few weeks she was by his bedside everyday giving him medicine and taking care of him at all hours of the day. As well as the rest of the family that would never ever leave his side. And let me tell you, they were both extremely hard working people.

Franci and Joe were in the hair business together for decades and worked with Paul Mitchell. They were married for 44 years and had 4 amazing children together and 12 grandchildren and one great grand child. They were always inviting everyone over to their house for gatherings for film events, holiday parties and birthdays. They always went above and beyond for everyone always. Whenever you were with their family you felt like one of their own. Joe had the warmest of smiles and the biggest of hearts. If you met him once, you were instantly friends, and if you met him more than once, you became family.

Joe's sickness progressed extremely fast and it was hard to get everything in order. The families days were filled with appointments of chemo and radiation, doctor visits and also working their jobs when able. So taking care of Joe was their full-time job towards the end. They were the most supportive and beautiful family you could ask for and were always by his side, surrounding him until his last moments. That being said, they weren't able to secure life insurance during this time so they are paying for the funeral and expenses out of pocket. The funeral takes place this upcoming Wednesday to give him a beautiful and proper sendoff to the heavens above. It would be such an immense help to his family during this time, to have help with the funeral and burial expenses as well as helping Franci get back on her feet with bills and other expenses while she is in the grieving process. Even sharing this fundraiser would help during this time as every little bit helps. Franci will be in charge of all funds.
