Help Joe Lento Fight Liver Disease
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Supporters:
We come to you today with a heartfelt plea to support our beloved son-in-law Joseph Lento, affectionately known as Joe, as he faces a challenging battle against Liver Disease. At just 36 years old, Joe's life has taken an unexpected turn, and he needs our collective help to navigate this difficult journey.
Joe resides in Fremont, Ohio with his family spread across Maryland and Florida. His health struggles have rendered him unable to work over two years, significantly impacting his quality of life. In April 2023, Joe received the devastating diagnosis of Liver Disease, which has since left him extremely ill. He endured a grueling 5 1/2 weeks in the hospital, only to be told that, for the time being, there were no further medical interventions available.
Currently, Joe's weekly routine includes visits to the hospital, where excess fluid caused by his Liver Disease is drained from his stomach. Despite these challenges, Joe remains resolute in his fight for a brighter future. In August 2023, he consulted with a Hepatologist who confirmed the severity of his condition and recommended placing him on the Liver Transplant List. Joe is currently undergoing a battery of tests to ensure he is mentally and physically stable for the upcoming 12-hour surgery. His hope lies in finding a suitable donor to facilitate his life-saving transplant.
Joe has already met with the Administrator and Financial Advisor for the surgery, and here lies our call to action. The total cost of the surgery is an overwhelming $750,000. Thankfully, Joe's insurance covers $675,000 of this amount, but the remaining $75,000 plus any additional medical expenses following the surgery, must be covered by Joe and his family. This financial burden, coupled with the emotional toll of his arduous journey, makes it an incredibly challenging time for Joe and his loved ones.
For those of you who know Joe, you're well aware of his kindhearted, fun-loving, and selfless nature. He has always been there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Now it's our turn to extend our support to Joe as he strives to embark on the next chapter of his young life- a chapter that promises healing, hope, and a renewed lease on life.
We humbly ask for your assistance, whether through financial contributions or by sharing Joe's story within your networks. Every bit of support brings us one step closer to ensuring that Joe can embrace the future with the same warmth and generosity of spirit that he has always shown to others.
