Help with Brennan family's tragic loss
Donation protected
Joe and Mary Brennan have had a tough few years.
Around midnight on November 7th, Joe woke up to some strange noises and discovered that the basement was engulfed in flames. He woke up Mary and they escaped with their children. They did not even have time to grab shoes, but were able to get out just in time.
They have lost everything: clothing, shoes, furniture, toys, bedding, blankets - absolutely everything.
This also includes medical and care supplies for their son, Rush, who has GSD and has extreme medical needs, including expensive Dexcom supplies and special formula.
Due to his GSD diagnosis, medically, Rush needs to eat every two hours, or he will experience life-threatening blood sugar levels. These are monitored with Dexcom devices, which are not covered by medical insurance as this usage is not within the normal scope or usage of said devices, making Joe and Mary pay for them out of pocket.
GSD, or glycogen storage disease, is a rare metabolic disorder where the body cannot properly store or break down glycogen, a form of sugar or glucose. GSD affects the muscles, liver, and other areas of the body. This means that Rush must be fed every two hours.
When he was diagnosed, Rush spent a month in the hospital after being life-flighted to children's hospital, and even now, they still have been paying off remaining medical debt from Rush's hospitalization and ongoing treatments.
Joe and Mary had home insurance and will go through the process of filing a claim, but they have critical needs to replace needed medical equipment which would not be covered, or even if covered, would not be paid out in time to be replaced.
Funds would be used to take care of their immediate needs for medical supplies and household items.
Please give as you can to help them rebuild and take care of the unique needs of their family.
