Help Joe Pavia Get On His Feet Again

My name is Jason Shouldice, and I am an old friend of Joe Pavia's.

Joe is going through an incredibly tough time right now. At 72 years old, he is battling multiple health conditions, including diabetes, the aftermath of a stroke, and heart problems.

For years, Joe was a pillar in the Ottawa community. He began his career at the YMCA, dedicating himself to helping disadvantaged individuals. Later, he had a 20-year career running the Central Canada Exhibition, always putting others before himself.

Joe is a celebrated figure in the Curling Community having been a part of the Ottawa Curling Club for over 20 years having also bought the curler store there.

He also wrote the Curling Column for the Ottawa Sun for Almost 10 years.

In his 60s, Joe took a brave leap and opened his own curling store. Tragically, the pandemic destroyed his business and his sole source of income. He spent his entire life savings trying to stay afloat and is now homeless.

For the past two months, Joe has been living in a hotel, but he can no longer afford to pay for his stay. We are desperately seeking a place for Joe to stay.

Living on a fixed pension, Joe desperately needs money for travel expenses, moving costs, and some basic furniture to make his new place a home.

When I was 15, my mother kicked me out of the house, and Joe took me in, becoming a father figure to me for several years. We've been friends for 26 years. Joe has always been the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help anyone, but now he is the one in need.

I've paid for a hotel room for him for a week to help with his transition, but if Joe has ever made a difference in your life, he really needs your help now.
