Help Joel Carrick Get Back on the Road

Donation protected
Hello,

My name is Jennifer Miller and I felt compelled to start this fundraiser for a very special member in the Atlanta community. His name is Joel Carrick and I’ve been following his adventures as a youth member for sometime now. I do not know Joel personally but I would encourage you to follow him on Instagram and Facebook to witness the inspirational work he does with Atlanta youth and for the community. He has over 34k followers on Instagram and his reels are very popular. He is a mentor to a group of young boys in the Atlanta area and posts their adventures daily. It won’t take long for you to realize that Joel is a hard working man with a heart of gold. He and the kids he mentors sure do get around Atlanta. His signature hashtag is #neverstopexploring and he certainly abides by that adage! If he’s not exploring some lesser know Atlanta landmark or trail, he is working to hand out food and household items to less fortunate folks with his mentees. He sets such a positive example and when I heard he was struggling with his car that had been stolen three times, I knew I had to do something. He is currently working as an Amazon flex driver (mentees in tow) in a rental car. The cost for the rental is getting to be unbearable as he awaits his settlement (see below for more details). I’d like to see if the community can come together to help as he and his mentees have done for so many others. He has located a vehicle and a trustworthy person willing to sell it to him for $5k. See below from Mr. Carrick as to how he found himself in this predicament:

It’s been stolen three times now and this last time I had to pay over 5k for fixing it. Jim Ellis Hyundai kept it for a couple months with no updates and then didn’t fix it right at all and I had to give it back to them for even longer and the whole time was paying for rental cars. When I finally got it back it started overheating. Went to four different mechanics and they all did different things that didn’t work and one charged me 1300 and then said to even tow it out of their shop I would have to pay even though it didn’t work. I have spent thousands on it and still owe 15k but they said to fix it now would be 10k so at this point it’s not worth me putting any more money in.

If you can’t donate, please check out his work on Facebook Joel Carrick and Instagram @joelcarrick at the very least to see the inspiring work he does! We hope to bless him and take this car problem off his shoulders. Thank you!
