Help Joelle afford their legal name change!

Hello everyone!

My name is Joelle, I'm a 22-year-old non-binary person, and I have been using my new name for over a year. I am so excited that I am finally ready to make the necessary legal filings to change my name here in Florida. However, being young, trans, and in Florida has made the process tricky, and I could use a little help.

Changing my name on paper eliminates many complications I've encountered in the classroom and workplace, perceptions in social situations, and self-perception (i.e., dysphoria). It would be a massive rock being taken out of my shoe. I greatly appreciate anyone who chooses to donate; thank you from the depth of my heart. :-)

The legal name change process in Dade county is divided into three main costs:

$401.00 - Filing Fee

$60.00 - Service Fee

$50.00 - Workshop Fee

These amounts do not include the fees for certified copies, travel costs, and fingerprint documentation.
