Help Joelle Fight Back
Donation protected
Here is a photo of my sister Joelle. My big sister, my friend.
She is not only my big sister, but she is a little sister to Stacy & Daryl, a mom to Haley (16) & Tyler (14), a daughter to Lea, an aunt to Joseph, Nicholas, Frankie, Jonathan, Ariana, Isabella, Sophia, & Cameron, a niece to Camille, Bill, Doug, Joanne, & Tony, a cousin to Rochelle, & Ryan, a friend to everyone she meets, and a fighter to all that know her.
On February 14th she went for her yearly mammogram, which leads to a call back for another one. Then the call came in that she was in need of a biopsy....and before the world changed for us all...our family's little world changed with one phone call.
On March 9th, my big sister was told she has an aggressive form of breast cancer. Every emotion, every thought running wild when we heard the news.
My sister is one tough cookie. She has been through hell and back already from a long list of medical and personal setbacks. She has fought tooth and nail to keep a roof over her two children's heads. She works as a hairstylist in our family's salon to give them the best life she can.
Joelle was told she needed to start treatment right away. 12 weeks of chemotherapy, followed by surgery, and then radiation. She said she was going to work right through it all, the best she could. Again... a fighter.
Joelle's health insurance is covering some things for her but a lot of things will not be covered. She is now unemployed due to the state of the world we are living in. She also has to do this alone and be alone at all of her appointments due to the virus looming around every corner.
We are starting this campaign, to help her pay for her medical costs, and keep the roof over her and her children's heads. We know we have a big goal, no donation is too small.
Her treatment started on March 27th.
She will lose her hair.
She will lose her strength.
She will be tired.
She will be sick.
She will make it.
The road is going to be tough getting there, but she will make it.
Hope is being able to see that there is light, even through the darkest days.
