Help Joes family during his medical recovery crisis
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Joe. I have never in my life asked for anything. I have always worked for what I wanted, which is how my dad raised me, old school. I'm 53 years old and have been driving a truck for the last 15 years. I have 2 of 5 kids at home still. I have donated to GoFundMe numerous times myself.
Well, this time I'm seeking a little help because my bills are getting behind now that I'm off work due to a medical issue. I almost lost my right foot due to a bacterial infection, which doesn't help being a type 2 diabetic. I did get lucky that the infection didn't go to the bone. I have been off work for 3 weeks and the foot doctor just told me on Monday, 8-19-2024, I will have to be off another month. I want to return to work but he said not yet. I was working by walking on my toes on my right foot, staying off my heel, coming home every day after work and having to change dressing from foot leaking. On 8-8-2024, I decided to check in at ER and ended up being admitted to the hospital which was supposed to be 1 night and ended up 2 nights. This is the first time I have ever missed work besides the typical cold/flu like we all have.
My wife is doing everything she can at her job trying hard to pick up hours and it makes me feel bad I'm tied up at home having to stay off my foot. I don't want to lose my home or have electricity shut off due to my kids. If I didn't have a family, I could live in my semi-truck, but being a father and a family man, I'm embarrassed to be asking for help, not how my father raised me. I just don't know what to do with bills stacking up.
