Beloved Austin local Joey Buice was in a serious accident involving a motorized scooter on Saturday, March 30th. He is in agonizing pain and his condition is currently critical.
Joey is suffering from brain bleeding in two separate locations. One is categorized by the doctors as a smaller bleed, while the other is larger and more concerning. Additionally, Joey also incurred several severe injuries including a broken collarbone, broken scapula, three broken ribs, a broken inner ear and has an irregular heartbeat.
In addition to these injuries, the doctors have suggest that Joey likely has aphasia, a language disorder caused by a head injury that affects a person's ability to express and understand written and spoken language. Joey will need intensive speech therapy in order to regain his ability to communicate and the road to recovery will be a long one.
