Help Johanna Reunite with Her Parents for Graduation
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Johanna, and I am a senior at the University of South Carolina-Upstate, studying logistics and supply chain. I am incredibly excited to graduate in May 2025, and I want nothing more than to have my parents from Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, with me for this special occasion.
My parents made the incredible sacrifice of giving up my little sister and me to come to America. They wanted to ensure we had a better future with access to education. Their selflessness has shaped who I am today, and there is nothing I want more than to make them proud by having them watch me graduate. This visit is particularly significant because it would be the first time my little sister sees our parents since coming to America 15 years ago. Reuniting our family after so many years and having my parents witness this milestone would mean the world to us.
Unfortunately, the cost of bringing them to the U.S. for my graduation is beyond what I can afford on my own. Between obtaining passports, applying for visas, booking flights, and covering their living expenses for 30 days, the total cost is estimated to be between $13,620 and $18,120.
Any amount you can contribute will bring us one step closer to making this dream a reality. Our goal is to raise $18,000 to ensure we can cover all expenses and have a small buffer for any unexpected costs. Thank you so much for your support and for sharing this campaign.
With gratitude,
Johanna
