Help John Clifton Repair His Tour Van
Donation protected
After having the engine blow on his tour van in Iowa, being unable to rent a vehicle to continue the journey, and having to cancel 6 shows on his Fall Midwest tour, our close friend and fellow road dog John Clifton had to then tow the beast back to Fresno. A LOT of money lost and spent. Disheartened but not defeated, this seasoned touring musician needs our help to recover his loss, repair the beast, and get ready to hit the road once again. THIS HAS GREATLY IMPACTED HIS LIVELIHOOD - PLEASE HELP IF YOU ARE ABLE!
The story as told by John, "With a heavy heart, I have to announce I must suspend the remainder of the tour with the exception of our California dates. My big blue van died 60 miles east of Des Moines after towing it to a Ford dealership in Des Moines I was told the engine blew up. The cost they quoted me was $15,000. It is a diesel engine which means big bucks. My van is 8 years old and has only 90,000 miles which is nothing for a diesel and I regularly service it. This van has caused me grief since I bought it brand new almost every tour I’ve done the check engine light comes on, or something goes wrong. It’s the second time it’s left me stranded. I bought it brand new with the intention of having a comfortable and dependable tour van, but unfortunately, it’s been a lemon. I’m having it transported back to Fresno (to the tune of $2000.00 rls'). It’s a real bummer. "
