Help John Fight a Tumor

On July 8th, our friend John collapsed at work for no apparent reason. After a litany of tests, it was determined that John had suffered a large scale stroke. Not only that, but it was discovered that John has a large tumor in his upper neck, a very rare tumor, called a Paraganglioma, that affects just two in one million people. This tumor cannot be biopsied, the main treatment for it is surgery to have it removed. This needs to be done in the next couple of months and is a very intricate surgery due to the tumors size, and location. John, along with his wife Sequoia, are seeking the care of one of the foremost specialists in paraganglioma tumors. It is currently unknown if the tumor had anything to do with the stroke, or if they are unrelated.
This coming week John will have an echocardiogram to determine if the stroke was caused by a hole in his heart, which will require a separate surgery than the removal of the tumor. The heart surgery would be scheduled within the next month.
The costs for both surgeries, and medical care, are going to exceed $160,000, most likely by quite a bit. Anything you can give helps.
