Help John fight Burkitts Lymphoma
Donation protected
John Turner is currently at Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) fighting Burkitts Lymphoma . He was admitted to OHSU on July 5th. He was attending a July 4th family BBQ where he was just not feeling well, and was taken to the ER at Providence Newberg hospital. Following some tests, he was transported to OHSU.
Burkitt lymphoma is a form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in which cancer starts in immune cells called B-cells. Recognized as the fastest growing human tumor, Burkitt lymphoma is associated with impaired immunity and is rapidly fatal if left untreated. However, intensive chemotherapy can achieve long-term survival in more than half the people with Burkitt lymphoma.
Praise God that the doctors at OHSU were able to rapidly diagnose John's condition, and they have started his intensive chemotherapy treatments. The doctor's expect that John will be at OHSU for at least a month battling this disease. John has medical insurance which should cover the bulk of his medical costs, but there are costs connected with his treatment which will not be covered by insurance. In addition, John's parents and others are standing vigil with John, despite the two hour round trip it takes to get to OHSU from McMinnville.
We covet your prayers for John and if you can contribute to this fund, that would be greatly appreciated. Rest assured that any monies you contribute will be used for expenses associated with John's treatment and stay at OHSU.
The hospital staff is asking that John not have visitors, and no flowers real or artificial can be in his room.
However, he would really love cards.
His address is:

He loves trains and John Deere tractors (if you can find any cards with them on them).
