Help John Lindeen FIGHT Brain Cancer

Donation protected
We are reaching out to friends, family, and the generous hearts within our community, and beyond to support John Lindeen, a valued and beloved member of our community, who has recently been diagnosed with brain cancer. John, known for his charm and relentless spirit, is embarking on a formidable journey of treatment and recovery. He needs our support and strength.

In late July 2023, John started experiencing sudden, unexplained symptoms of dizziness, extreme fatigue, jaundice, and double vision. With further evaluation by MRIs and CT scans here in Green Bay, it was discovered that John had an inoperable tumor located midbrain. With time and skilled surgeons very limited, John was sent to UW Health Madison and was blessed that one of the TOP neurosurgeons in the world was willing to review his case. He generously made himself available just two days before leaving the country to fulfill other obligations. John underwent an extremely invasive and risky 9-hour brain surgery to attempt to remove the tumor. The surgery was successful in removing a large majority of the tumor, stopping the dangerous brain bleed, and relieving the pressure caused by excess ventricular fluid. An external brain drain was later installed to aid in this process through his recovery. After a week of waiting, the biopsy results revealed it was a malignant Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumor, which is extremely rare, and aggressive. In total, John was in the ICU for 24 days. He was taken care of by the most gracious, attentive, and kind staff imaginable. Their compassion and support mean so much to the whole Lindeen Family.

As you can imagine, the overwhelming feelings of fear, anger, and sadness are ever-present after receiving this unexpected news. John and his family had to absorb, process, and collect themselves to move forward through this crisis, being so brave to attack this head-on with so many unknowns.

With further tests, evaluations, and collaborations still being conducted, John will be receiving his treatment at one of the best cancer centers in the country - Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He will start with 6-8 weeks of daily proton radiation there, followed by 6 months of chemotherapy, 4 days a week between there and home... Aggressive treatment for aggressive cancer!

John has touched the lives of SO many, always extending a helping hand... throughout his career in the United States Marine Corps, as a loving Dad, husband, son, and brother, a devoted friend, and a strong leader in both work and life. He is loved. Now, he and his family need our help. His wife, Michelle, and son, Logan, have been and will continue to be right next to him for every step of his journey. The medical bills will be accumulating, and with John away from work, the family is facing immense financial pressure. They are dealing not only with the emotional burden of a cancer diagnosis but also with the increasing strain of everyday living and travel expenses. Any family who has gone through such change knows it can be emotionally and financially crippling. Despite it all, their hope and positivity remain strong.

Goal:
We aim to raise funds to alleviate the financial stress on John and his family. The funds raised will contribute to medical bills, living/travel expenses, and other unforeseen costs associated with his long road to recovery. Every contribution, big or small, will make a substantial difference in John’s battle against brain cancer.
